While has seen buzz swirling about Marvel‘s take on Spider-Man, with the character slated to appear in the imminently filming “Captain America: Civil War,” followed by the standalone movie which might be called “Spider-Man: The New Avenger.” Now, if the chatter is anything to go by, the studio may have found the actor to be their new webslinger.

According to Latino Review, “Hugo” and “Ender’s Game” star Asa Butterfield has the frontrunner position against a field of contenders that includes Nat Wolff (“Paper Towns,” “The Fault In Our Stars“), Tom Holland (“Wolf Hall,” “In The Heart Of The Sea“), Timothee Chalamet (“Interstellar,” “The Adderall Diaries“) and Liam James (“The Killing“). “Marvel had liked him since day one,” according to their source. But of course, this is just a rumor. Nothing is official, so don’t get too excited (or not) just yet.
