‘CONSTANTINE’ to Guest Star on ARROW?

conddwdWhen NBC canceled the DC Comics’ adaptation Constantine, starring Matt Ryan, we weren’t quite sure if the necromancer anti-hero would ever be resurrected on television. Then again, the hit CW show Arrow has never been one to shy away from resurrections, so perhaps this is just the place for John Constantine to show up? In a recent interview with Arrow stars Stephen Amell and Emily Bett Rickards, along with Executive Producer Wendy Mericle, this very question was raised, which conjured up a rather interesting answer.

There’s also quite a bit of news crammed into this short interview, such as the fate of Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh) and just what Felicity will have to do with him this season. And I don’t believe we’ve posted this news before, but Neal McDonough has been cast as season four’s big bad, Damien Darhk. That casting is certainly a done deal, but it’s not quite as clear whether Constantine will appear or not.

Here’s the relevant part of the interview as pertains to Constantine:

“Yeah, we really want to do it,” said Mericle. “It’s something we’ve been talking to DC about and it’s just a question of some political things, but also the actor’s schedule. We’re trying to work it out, but we don’t know 100 percent if it’s going to happen.” “Fingers crossed,” added Amell. “But we’re really optimistic and we would love to have him,” said Mericle.

Would you like to see Constantine show up on Arrow, specifically the version brought to life by Ryan? I’m of the opinion that the NBC series was pulled much too quickly and that Ryan silenced a lot of haters with his portrayal of the darkly comic and disturbed occult detective, so I’d love to see him reprise the role at least one more time.
