While, I haven’t seen (yet) some critically well received films like Moonlight, Silence, Fences, 20th Century Women & Elle, (which I am sure would have affected my list), I have tried my best to bring down some of the best & worst to come out in 2016. Looking at the facts, I think this is the year were the audience decided to give their thumbs down to many sequels, some unwanted like Zoolander 2, Independence Day: Resurgence, Ride Along 2, BarberShop: The Next Cut, Ice Age: Collision Course, The Huntsman: Winter’s War, Alice Through the Looking Glass & TMNT: Out of the Shadows, with the latter being the only one being a slight improvement over its predecessor, while the rest (I am sure I am missing out some) did nothing but tarnish the reputations of the previous films. The biggest shock came in the form of the massive failure of Allegiant, the third entry in the Divergent series. The film failed critically & tanked at the box office, hereby cancelling the production of on the fourth & final entry of the YA series. Speaking of YA, the Chloë Grace Moretz starrer The 5th Wave was quite bad too. The less I say about terrible ensemble films like Gods of Egypt & the delayed Masterminds, the better! Moving a couple of years back, who would have thought the always saleable & likable Will Smith could deliver a massive flop! Yup, Collateral Beauty is turning out to be the biggest failure of his film career, by which I am not surprised as the film is painfully bad. The below are in the my opinion the 10 worst Hollywood films of the year :
