Sissy Spacek to Make Return to Stephen King Multiverse in ‘Castle Rock’!!!

Sissy Spacek is making her return to the Stephen King multiverse in the upcoming Hulu series “Castle Rock.”

In “Castle Rock” she will play Ruth Deaver, the estranged adoptive mother of Henry (Andre Holland). Henry is the series lead — a retired professor with fading memories and a complicated history about the town.

One of Spacek’s best known roles is thanks to a King work. She starred in the 1976 adaptation of “Carrie,” in which she played the titular, telekinetic high schooler. She was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance.

Jane Levy (“Suburgatory”) has also been cast in the series as Jackie, a death-obsessed, self-appointed Castle Rock historian.

 Levy is no stranger to horror and has made a name for herself starring in genre fare such as the “Evil Dead” remake and “Don’t Breathe.” She also was one of many cast in the “Twin Peaks” revival.

Castle Rock” is an original series based in the Stephen King multiverse and around the town of Castle Rock, Maine — which appears in a number of King stories. Hulu describes the show as a “psychological-horror series… [that] combines the mythological scale and intimate storytelling of King’s best-loevd works, weaving an epic saga of darkness and light.”

The show has been picked up for a 10-episode first season order. It’ll be executive produced by J.J. Abrams, Ben Stephenson and Liz Glotzer. Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason developed the series for television are co-writers and executive producers.

Bad Robot Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television is producing the series.
