‘Rampage:’ Dwayne Johnson Rings in Independence Day With Set Photo!! Check It Out!!

Oh say can you see by Twitter’s early light? Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson sure can, and he pre-celebrated the fourth of July by tweeting out a set photo from his upcoming video game adaptation “Rampage“.

And in honor of American Independence Day, Johnson nodded to the action sci-fi pic of the same thing, saying “Do not go gentle,” a reference to the speech Bill Pullman gives in the 1996 film.

“Grateful to put in work w/ our hard working crew on the eve of our Independence. #OnSet #Rampage #BloodiedAndBattered,” added Johnson.

Rampage” is based on the 1980s video game and will feature three monsters who are wreaking havoc across North America — and as is traditional in his films, Johnson is the only hope of stopping them.

Naomi Harris, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Malin Akerman and Joe Manganiello also star in the action film, directed by Brad Peyton (“San Andreas”).

The thriller reunites Johnson, New Line, producer Beau Flynn and Peyton, who also worked together on “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island.” Peyton is producing through his ASAP Entertainment banner and Flynn is producing with John Rickard via his Wrigley Pictures banner. Hiram Garcia, Johnson’s partner on Seven Bucks Entertainment, is also producing.

Ryan Engle wrote the original screenplay. Carlton Cuse and Ryan Condal revised it, with Adam Sztykiel handling current revisions.

Rampage” is set for an April 20, 2018 release.
