Akshay Kumar‘s consistent pull at the Box Office has paid off all over again, what with Rs. 50 Crore* coming over the weekend. The film started well on Friday and then continued to grow well into Saturday and then Sunday as well. The outcome is there to be seen as the film has managed one of the best weekends of the year.

The film has found acceptance amongst the audience and though it was always on the cards that smaller centers would relate to the subject, the fact that it has managed to penetrate amongst multiplexes as well is a good sign indeed. This would now ensure that collections stay good right through and the first week would comfortably go past the Rs. 80 Crore mark.

Toilet – Ek Prem Katha is now set to be Akshay Kumar’s fifth straight Rs. 100 Crore film. He has been consistently making films in controlled budget and that ensures good profits for all involved. Airlift, Rustom, Jolly LLB 2 and now Toilet – Ek Prem Katha are a testimony to that. In the middle of this all he also featured in Housefull 3 which scored a century as well.

In terms of reliability, the superstar has stayed on to be a favorite amongst the producers, distributors and exhibitors, and the fact that he makes three-four films a year ensures that money continues to exchange hands round the clock. Toilet – Ek Prem Katha has turned out to be a welcome addition to this trend as well and one now looks forward to the kind of high that the film eventually touches.
