‘Stranger Things’ Renewed for Third Season at Netflix!!!

The only strange thing would be if you couldn’t see this news coming from a mile away.

Netfix will journey back to Hawkins, Indiana — and more importantly, the Upside Down — when “Stranger Things” returns with a third installment, the company announced Friday.

The full main cast is expected to return for show’s third outing. For those who need reminding, that’s Winona Ryder as Joyce Byers, David Harbour as Chief Jim Hopper, Finn Wolfhard as Mike Wheeler, Noah Schnapp as Will Byers, Millie Bobby Brown as Eleven, Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas Sinclair, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin Henderson, Cara Buono as Karen Wheeler, Natalia Dyer as Nancy Wheeler, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan Byers, Joe Keery as Steve Harrington, Dacre Montgomery as Billy, and Sadie Sink as Max, among others.

The series has proved a strong hit for the streaming giant, with both of its seasons achieving a 94% “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 2, which debuted Oct. 27, drew big numbers for Netflix, with Nielsen reporting that 15.8 million people watched first episode during its opening weekend, while 361,000 people watched all nine Season 2 episodes on the first day.

The first season of “Stranger Things” grabbed 18 Emmy nominations this year, with five wins today. It also won the 2017 SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, and the 2017 Norman Felton Producer of the Year Award in Episodic Television — Drama from the Producers Guild of America.

Matt and Ross Duffer serve as executive producers and directors on the series, along with Dan Cohen, Iain Patterson and director Shawn Levy.

No premiere date has been announced for “Stranger Things 3.”
