‘Jessica Jones’ Season 2 Featurette Celebrates the Women Who Bring the Story to Life!!! Check It Out!!

“A powerful female protagonist or female director or female showrunner … that shouldn’t be unique,” says Jessica Jones showrunner Melissa Rosenberg. She’s right, of course, but unfortunately it is a unique thing — especially when it comes to superhero TV series. It’s also one of the aspects of Jessica Jones that makes it so good; that is, not just having a female perspective, but as Rosenberg goes on to say “a balanced one.”

In a new featurette released by Netflix, stars Krysten Ritter, Carrie-Anne Moss, Rachael Taylor, Eka Darville, and Rosenberg speak to that and more. It’s hard to follow up a villain like Kilgrave, but the show once again focuses in on the emotional nuances of its characters, like what being a person who feels both a call to duty and reticence to get involved means, and that makes all of the difference.
