New ‘Terminator’ Movie to Start Filming This Summer for a Planned July 2019 Release!!!

Since Paramount and Skydance have set their untitled Terminator movie for a July 26, 2019 release date, one would imagine the film is going to have to kick it into production gear sooner than later. Luckily, news on the Terminator 6 filming start date came out of an unexpected place over the weekend: The 30th anniversary celebration of the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio.

There, TheArnoldFans.com (via CS) chatted with the Main Man himself Arnold Schwarzenegger to get the inside scoop on his cinematic plans. Schwarzenegger will return along with Linda Hamilton for director Tim Miller (Deadpool) with James Cameron and David Ellison producing. Hamilton’s Sarah Conner is expected to be a “seasoned warrior” version of her fan-favorite character and the new film, which will pick up after the events of Terminator 2: Judgment Day and will ignore the other Terminator films that followed it, is expected to kick off a feature film trilogy.

Here’s what Arnie had to say:

“We are starting to shoot Terminator 6 in June to the middle of October, so I am in that. I am looking forward to coming back as the T-800 model. It’s gonna be great with Tim Miller as the director and Jim Cameron is kind of supervising the whole thing.”

So that T-800 is the version fans are probably most familiar with as its the model that Schwarzenegger inhabited in the first and second films. So the only question now, other than the obvious curiosities about the film’s plot and how it will shape the future of the franchise, is whether or not Terminator 6 will push its release date in order to accommodate enough time for post-production.
