‘Wonder Woman 2’: Patty Jenkins Confirms Kristen Wiig as Cheetah!!!

More than 75 years after the villainous creation of William Moulton Marston appeared in the pages of DC Comics, Cheetah will make her big-screen debut in the live-action sequel, Wonder Woman 2. As previously reported, Kristen Wiig will indeed be inhabiting the antagonistic role opposite Gal Gadot‘s title superheroine in Patty Jenkins‘ highly anticipated return. It was Jenkins herself who confirmed the casting over social media.

Plot details are few and far between at the moment, but current reports suggest that the film will pick up with Diana Prince during the Cold War in the 1980s. Crafted alongside Geoff Johns and co-written with Johns and Dave Callaham, the story will obviously factor in Wiig’s Cheetah as the antagonist, though in just what capacity remains to be seen. It’s also unclear just which version of the villain Wiig will take on; the character’s aliases include Priscilla Rich, Deborah Domaine, Barbara Ann Minerva/Cavendish and Sebastian Ballesteros, though it’s probably a safe bet she won’t be playing the only male Cheetah. The 80s run in the comics centered on Domaine, but that alias was later retconned as merely a false named used by Barbara Ann to commit crimes as Cheetah, so we’re banking on the more modern version of Barbara Ann for this movie.
