‘Strangers’: The Dean Koontz Novel Is In Development at Fox!!

Variety is reporting that Fox has given a pilot script commitment to a one-hour drama adaptation of the 1986 Dean Koontz novel Strangers, which is being developed by Criminal Minds and Teen Wolf creator Jeff Davis.

Strangers revolves around a group of people, thousands of miles apart and from different walks of life, who find themselves struck by unusual fears and phobias. They come to realize that they are all connected by suppressed memories from the year before, which are starting to resurface and leading them to the Tranquility Motel in a remote part of the Nevada desert.

Somewhat incredibly, should Strangers make it to series, it will become the first TV show based on Koontz’s writing to make it to air (he was previously involved with USA Network’s planned Frankenstein series, but pulled out during production of the made-for-TV movie pilot and subsequently reworked his concept into a series of books).

Davis is set to write the pilot for Strangers, as well as executive producing with Koontz and Josh Berman and Chris King of Osprey Productions.
