Warner Bros. and Legendary have released a “Casting Video” for their upcoming film Detective Pikachu. The video is really just a fun away to run through a variety of Pokemon and get the non-initiated up to speed on the characters that will populate the film. I suspect you won’t really need a vast knowledge of Poke mon to enjoy Detective Pikachu since the story follows Tim (Justice Smith) and Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds) as they set out to solve the disappearance of Tim’s father.

But there’s an entire generation that fell in love with Pokemon, and they’re probably going to be psyched to see these characters on the big screen in their first non-animated movie, so why not give Jigglypuff, Charizard, et al. their due? The film looks fun and cute and I am on board.

Check out the Detective Pikachu casting video below. The film opens May 10th and also stars Kathryn Newton, Suki Waterhouse, Omar Chaparro, Chris Geere, Rita Ora, Ken Watanabe, and Bill Nighy.
