‘Fonzo’: Josh Trank Confirms 2019 Release for Tom Hardy-led Film!!

Josh Trank, the director of Fantastic Four, has confirmed a 2019 release date for his new film Fonzo – an Al Capone biopic starring Tom Hardy.

A film director’s career isn’t always a smooth series of events. Josh Trank has had a tough time of it lately, with his Fantastic Four movie not impressing pretty much anyone at all. Well, Trank is now back with his new film Fonzo, a drama about Al Capone starring Tom Hardy.

Confirming that the movie will be coming out in 2019, Trank took to Twitter, saying that his past failures have bought him to what he believes is the best work of his career: “Failure was a gift. It forced me to walk an honest path, and I’m way happier today than I ever was before. I have a film out later this year, starring Tom Hardy, called Fonzo that I wrote, directed, and edited. We had so much fun making it & it’s my best work as a filmmaker.”

The film certainly has many ingredients to be a success and Tom Hardy fans will certainly be hoping that this crime drama about one of history’s most notorious crime bosses is an enjoyable one.

Fonzo sees Hardy starring as a 47-year-old Capone who, with dementia rotting his mind, finds himself haunted by harrowing memories of his violent and brutal past.

The film is being directed by Josh Trank (Chronicle, Fantastic Four) and sees Hardy joined in the cast by Kyle MacLachlan (Twin Peaks), Matt Dillon (Wayward Pines), Linda Cardellini (Bloodline), Kathrine Narducci (The Sopranos) and Jack Lowden (Dunkirk).
