‘The Batman’ Camera Test Footage Reveals First Look at Robert Pattinson’s DC Hero!! Check It Out!!

Matt Reeves has debuted the first peek at The Batman in new camera test footage — and as a BIG bonus, it also includes a snippet of Michael Giacchino‘s new score. As far as first look reveals go, this one is a heckuva doozy, guys. Not only do we get our first look at the new Batman suit, we get our first look at Robert Pattinson‘s glass-cutting jaw in the cowl and Greig Fraser‘s cinematography,  and a little listen at Giachinno’s percussive new music. And may I just say, hot damn.

Reeves, who is writing and directing the new Batman film, shared the first look footage on social media — the latest in a string of smart moves from studios, and Warner Bros. in particular, who get ahead of the set leaks and present their first look on their own terms. Instead of seeing Pattinson’s Batman for the first time from the perspective of a long-range lens, probably chatting on his cell phone or sipping a coffee, Reeves & Co. just introduced us to the whole tone and style of the film with a brief snippet.

And to this I say, heeeelllllll yes. This is exactly the sharp, just on the stylized line of realism energy I was hoping for in Reeves’ film, especially paired with that droning but energized music. And of course, as we all knew, Pattinson’s sharp features were tailor-made for the cowl.

Check out the first footage of Pattinson as Batman below, followed by some screenshots. The Batman opens June 25, 2021 and also stars Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon, Paul Dano as Edward Nashton/Riddler, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, Colin Farrell as Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin, John Turturro as Carmine Falcone, and Peter Sarsgaard as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson.
