‘Fantastic Beasts 3’: Eddie Redmayne Confirms Filming Has Officially Begun!!

Fantastic Beasts 3 has officially started filming, Eddie Redmayne has confirmed.

Yep, the Harry Potter prequel spin-off is back in action following coronavirus delays, and Eddie, who plays magizoologist Newt Scamander, has revealed there’s some pretty stringent safety measures in place.

Speaking to Cinemablend, the actor said: “It’s interesting because we’ve started shooting now. We’re two weeks in, and again, it’s a whole new process.

“It’s a whole new normal. Testing frequently, masks…”

Eddie added that he was initially worried that filming with masks would impact the cast’s ‘creativity’, but luckily, everybody has been “working at the top of their game”.

“What is really reassuring is that it is a different process, but it still feels like it’s fizzing,” he went on.

Fantastic Beasts was originally put on hold in early spring, as the pandemic took hold.

We don’t know much about the upcoming movie, but what we do know is that it’s going to be packed with action, and the stars will be heading to Hogwarts to film part of their next chapter.

Dan Fogler, who plays Jacob Kowalski in the movie, has previously hinted the series is set to include “a massive war” and “epic battle scenes.”

“I can say I read the script and the character development is really lovely and it’s very similar to the feel of the first movie, which I think is great,” he said.

“It’s leading toward this massive war with the backdrop of World War II, so you can just imagine epic battle scenes are coming.”

According to Deadline, this time Newt and co will also be heading to sunny Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The city is home to new wonder of the world, Christ the Redeemer, the world-famous Copacabana beach, sprawling favelas and annual Rio carnival – no doubt making it an amazing setting for all of the wizarding action.

Jude Law is also returning as Albus Dumbledore and Ezra Miller as Aurelius Dumbledore. Last October, it was confirmed Johnny Depp, who played Gellert Grindelwald, would be reprising his role, too while Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein) and Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) will also be returning.

The movie is currently being tipped for release in November 2021.

We. Cannot. Wait.
