Kevin Feige Confirms Kathryn Hahn’s Agatha Harkness Will Return in the MCU!!

Was it “Agatha All Along”? That looks to be the case! Our second favorite witch (love you, Wanda!) will be returning to the MCU as we have solid confirmation from the Marvel Cinematic Universe! But where will we see Agatha? When will we see her?

Kevin Feige himself confirmed that Kathryn Hahn will indeed return to Marvel Studios as Agatha Harkness. In an interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Feige spoke about the evolution of the Marvel Universe on Disney+, he mentioned that these limited series television shows have been in the works for years:

“What you see now in Phase Four is still the combination of work of five or six years, in some cases. In the case of Shang-Chi, 10 or 15 years in the past – we have been working towards a Shang-Chi movie for many, many years; towards the Black Widow movie, as everybody knows, for many, many years. So those were always set as films. When Bob Iger told us about Disney+ and about his desire for us to produce shows for Disney+, it gave us a new avenue, frankly, to do something we hadn’t been considering before, which was really doing a deep dive on characters who deserve a deep dive but hadn’t had the chance yet. It took us four or five films to tell even a tiny story of Wanda Maximoff and The Vision.”

WandaVision was groundbreaking for the MCU and Disney in general, helping to bring in almost 30 Emmy nominations and drawing huge crowds to the streaming platform every week. But after the credits rolled, fans want to know… will Agatha ever be coming back? Rotten Tomatoes asked him just that question.

After casting Kathryn as Agatha Harkness, a lesser-known character in MCU from The Scarlet Witch’s saga, Feige saw audiences responding to the nosy neighbor turned powerful witch in the seventh episode. Initially, there wasn’t a large comic fan base for the Agnes (or Agatha) character, but with a great cast and top-notch acting, Marvel fan after fan started asking when they would see Agatha again. Feige answered:

“Someday. Someday soon. You will see Kathryn Hahn in Knives Out 2 next, then maybe an assortment of other things. But within the MCU, it can’t come soon enough. Let’s put it that way.”

The villainous side of the witches in the Multiverse will certainly draw more crowds, whether it be in films or television shows. With the success of WandaVision both in terms of audiences and awards, this arm of the Avengers certainly has legs. We’re excited to see what else comes of Wanda, Vision, and Agatha! Just keep her away from our pets…
