‘Eternals’ Gets New Character Posters!! Check It Out!!

Marvel Studios unveils a new collection of characters posters for Eternals introducing the world to the new Marvel Cinematic Universe superhero team. Part of Phase Four of the MCU, the film hails from Oscar winner Chloé Zhao, who is directing on a script co-written by Zhao, Patrick Burleigh and Ryan & Kaz Firpo. Zhao has put together an ensemble cast for Eternals including Angelina Jolie, Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Lia McHugh, Kumail Nanjiani, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Harish Patel, Kit Harrington and Salma Hayek.

Eternals will introduce the titular group to the MCU, an immortal alien race created by the Celestials who have lived on Earth for over 7,000 years to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants. Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, the group must reunite as the Deviants reemerge and pose a dangerous new threat to the world. Following numerous delays in its release schedule due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the film is officially coming to theaters exclusively in a few weeks, spurred on by the box office success of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.

To celebrate tickets going on sale for the new MCU chapter, Marvel has released a new set of character posters for Eternals. The posters offer closer looks at its titular superhero team and their unique costumes. Check out the new character posters below:

Though the trailers have certainly offered looks at the superhero outfits for the group, the character posters for Eternals do give a closer look at the more intricate designs of their suits. The posters also act as a nice highlight of the color schemes being utilized for the heroes and the bonds between the group, such as Jolie’s Thena and Lee’s Gilgamesh featuring similar shades of gold in their posters. The color scheme could also be indicating the reveal of Keoghan’s Druig as a traitor to the titular group, a theory many fans have posited given the comics have seen him transition to villainy in the past and Keoghan’s penchant for portraying antagonists over the years.

Regardless of what secrets the film ultimately holds, Eternals is certainly shaping up to be another anticipated chapter in the MCU. Opening the doors up to more of the cosmic side of the comics, namely in its introduction of the Celestials, featuring an ensemble cast of diverse performers and both Zhao and Marvel exec Nate Moore teasing the film as vital to the future of the MCU, it looks to be one of the more important installments of Phase Four. The wait is nearly over as Eternals hits theaters on November 5.
