Following over a year of wait, Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Netflix India have finally unveiled the first look teaser of the upcoming ambitious series, Heeramandi. Starring Sonakshi Sinha, Manisha Koirala, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Shaikh. The first look was unveiled on Saturday during Bhansali‘s interaction with Ted Sarandos, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Netflix.
The caption on the first teaser read, “Another time, another era, another magical world created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali we can’t wait to be a part of. Here is a glimpse into the beautiful and intriguing world of #Heeramandi.”
“In terms of vision and labour, Heeramandi is the toughest project of my career so far. It is like making eight different films. Every episode is like a full-length feature film. There are no compromises in the filmmaking because of the size of the screen,” said Bhansali in an earlier report exclusively to Bollywood Hungama.
Heeramandi will explore stories of courtesans and the hidden cultural reality of Heeramandi, a dazzling district, during pre-independent India. It’s a series about love, betrayal, succession and politics in the kothas.
