‘Rivals’ Season 2 Teaser Sees the Return of 80s Excess!! Check It Out!!

David Tennant will always be inseparable from his legendary role in Doctor Who, but over the years, he’s starred in dozens of other notable projects. He famously played one of Marvel’s most underrated villains, Kilgrave, in Jessica Jones, and he’s also the voice behind one of Star Wars’ most beloved droids, Huyang. Tennant recently worked with his long-time collaborator, Michael Sheen, on Good Omens, which is set to come to a head later this year with one final episode after being delayed due to allegations against Neil Gaiman. However, one of Tennant’s most underrated projects is coming back sooner than expected.

Tennant is one of the many stars in Disney’s new hit series, Rivals, which streams on Hulu in America and on Disney+ globally. The first season of Rivals arrived in late 2024, and it was an instant hit. Tennant can be seen as Tony Baddingham in the show’s star-studded ensemble, which also consists of Aidan Turner as Declan O’Hara, Emily Atack as Sarah Stratton, Danny Dyer as Freddie Jones, Alex Hassell as Rupert Campbell-Black, Bella Maclean as Taggie O’Hara, Katherine Parkinson as Lizzie Veteker, and Victoria Smurfit as Maud O’Hara. Hayley Atwell has also joined the Rivals Season 2 cast as Helen Gordon. The show is based on the book of the same name by Jilly Cooper.

After months of anticipation, Hulu has finally released the first official teaser for Rivals Season 2, and also confirmed that the show will return on May 15 with three new episodes. Three more episodes will follow shortly after, with the remaining six episodes in the 12-episode season to come later in the year. The streamer has also released an official synopsis for the long-awaited second season of Rivals:

“The battle for the Central South West television franchise reaches a fever pitch as the war between Corinium and Venturer enters a dangerous new phase. More ruthless than ever, Tony Baddingham is determined to dismantle his rivals piece-by-piece, weaponising scandal and manipulating those closest to him to maintain his grip on power.”

What Else Is Streaming on Disney+ Right Now?

While fans await Rivals Season 2, there are plenty of other great shows like Percy Jackson and the Olympians to watch. Marvel’s new show, Wonder Man, is also topping streaming charts, along with the beloved sitcom Modern Family. James Cameron’s Avatar movies are also dominating Disney+ streaming charts right now, as well as Disney’s 2025 sci-fi bomb, Tron: Ares.
