‘The Boys’ Season 5 Trailer Finds Homelander More Powerful Than Ever!! Check It Out!!

The end is nigh for The Boys fans with the Season 5 kick-off just one month away. On April 8, audiences will be treated to a two-episode starter for what will usher in the final season of the satirical superhero series. It’s been a long road to this point, especially considering the nearly three-year wait between the penultimate season and this one. But, finally, we’ll get the answers we’re looking for when it comes to whatever Homelander (Antony Starr) has up his sleeve and exactly how screwed the rest of the world is.

Luckily, Season 2 of Gen V gave us a good look into what happened when the fourth season came to an end in the summer of 2024. Along with the rest of her crew of young heroes, Marie Moreau (Jaz Sinclair) launched an all-out war against Vought, starting with Dr. Thomas Godolkin (Ethan Slater). When we last left off with the budding supes, they were joined by a few key characters from the flagship series, including Erin Moriarty’s Annie January, aka Starlight, and Jessie T. Usher’s A-Train.

Today, the team behind the beloved Prime Video production has dropped the last trailer we’ll ever get from the series, showcasing the action that’s going to break out in just a few weeks. Finally reaching the pinnacle of his power, we see Homelander first ascending a staircase and, by the end of the teaser, sitting behind the resolute desk at the White House. Ready to do anything in their power to stop him, Butcher (Karl Urban) and the rest of the crew argue over a plan that would see the death of every Supe in the world — a risk they might just be willing to take. There’s also plenty of Soldier Boy content for the Jensen Ackles fans out there, although sadly, it looks like he’ll be on the side of Homelander for this final battle.

What’s Next for ‘The Boys’ Universe?

Since bowing out last fall, plans surrounding Season 3 of Gen V have been kept under wraps, but considering that numerous members of the spin-off will likely play a pivotal role in the final season of The Boys, we’d wager that nothing will be confirmed until after the series finale airs. Meanwhile, Ackles, Aya Cash, and a handful of newcomers are busy filming the prequel series, Vought Rising. Turning back the clock, the offshoot will unveil the early days of Vought and give Ackles’ Soldier Boy and Cash’s Stormfront an origin story that we’re going to presume will be an over-the-top, crass bloodbath.

While you wait for Season 5 of The Boys to round out the story that’s been seven years in the making, you can check out the final trailer above and catch up on the rest of the series now streaming on Prime Video.
