If you take a look at the top of each streaming service’s watchlist, it becomes immediately clear that sci-fi TV shows have as high a success rate as any other genre in the medium. Netflix just wrapped up its biggest sci-fi show ever at the end of last year with Stranger Things, which was on the air for almost 10 years. It’s positioned 3 Body Problem as its next sci-fi masterpiece, but new reports indicate that the show might not be getting the ending that fans were expecting. Even Prime Video has found a new flagship property in Fallout, the video game adaptation so steeped in the world of sci-fi that it’s unrecognizable from the real world. Disney+ and Hulu have finally found their big sci-fi masterpiece over the last year with Paradise.
The first season of Paradise premiered in January 2025, and it quietly picked up steam throughout its first season on its way to becoming one of the most popular shows of the year. The series was written and created for TV by Dan Fogelman (This Is Us), and it stars Sterling K. Brown as Xavier Collins, a Secret Service agent tasked with investigating the death of President Cal Bradford (James Marsden). The show takes a hard turn when it’s revealed that this investigation is happening underneath a bunker in Colorado after a volcanic eruption covered the atmosphere in ash and therefore made life on the surface uninhabitable. Paradise returned with its second season less than a year after the first season went off the air, and now the fate of the critically acclaimed sci-fi series has already been decided. Hulu has confirmed that Paradise has been renewed for Season 3, with production expected to resume soon.
How Many More Episodes Are in ‘Paradise’ Season 2?
Hulu has released the first six episodes of Paradise Season 2, which leaves only two episodes remaining in its sophomore season. Similar to the first season, Paradise Season 2 had a three-episode premiere, meaning the show will only be on the air for just over a month instead of closer to two months. This three-episode premiere was necessary for the show to get rolling, though, with each episode focusing on a different branch of the story that set the stage for the rest of the season.
