Fugly is a dark, gory and predictable film more of a hybrid of Rang De Basanti (2006), but where RDB succeeded Fugly fails! The film has an entertaining 1st half, but takes a U turn in the post interval potions, & just when you thought this film would turn out to be decent, the 2nd half goes spiraling down into confusion & chaos. The film tries to portray almost every current social issue in about 70 minutes of the 2nd half & due to the confused execution, the film makes more noise than sense. Among the cast its clearly Jimmy Shergill as the menacing cop running the show! Truly an underrated actor! The lead new comers play their parts very well; Mohit Marwah, Kiara advani, Arfi Lamba & Olympic Medalist Vijender Singh have good screen presence, maybe this film will just work out for them. A special mention to music, which is actually pretty good! On the whole, Fugly is a disappointing and an ordinary fare with very little entertainment value & may appeal to a minute audience.
