Its been really unfortunate that Pakistan cinema has not been able to utilize its vast potential talent. Among the last few years cinematic gems like Khuda Ke Liye, Bol & some others have been changing the trend while receiving wide acclaim commercially & critically. After watching the trailer about a year back, I can easily say Waar has certainly lived up to my anticipation. The movie’s execution is immaculate and needless to say it is very well linked with the current situation of Pakistan while bringing forth the contributions of armed forces of Pakistan, which most of common people and foreign media are unaware of. Given the minute budget and the way Bilal Lashari has pulled off the cinematography, the action sequences are almost at par with big budget Hollywood flicks. Shaan (Khuda Ke Liye) is a top notch actor, no wonder he has a huge fan following! Some great performances from the rest of the awesome supporting cast especially Ali Azmat (Junoon Band). It did seem strange at 1st as nearly 85% of the movie is in English instead of Urdu, well probably the movie-makers wanted to attract the attention of an international audience! Overall director Bilal Lashari & ARY have done a fine job & I would recommend everyone to watch this movie with an unbiased opinion! WAAR should deserve much more than an applaud!
