Based on a popular manga series, Space Pirate Captain Harlock may remind you after Star Wars, Star Trek & Battlestar Galactica, but provides enough to stand on its on. The plot is pretty much simple & at times predictable, but thankfully a couple of twists here and there help out. A mysterious vengeful captain. An epic galaxy spanning journey. A fearsome ship. Plenty of action. Family drama. What more do you want? While there are a few plot holes that either weren’t explained or weren’t explained enough I think that overall it was balanced well enough to tell the story the director wanted.This animated rendering film is a potential Digital Masterpiece, compelling and convincing. The job done by the creators is almost perfect. The attention is captured since the end, and the figure of Captain Harlock is seen by the eyes of the “others”, and yet it’s heavily present, in the Whole film! You must see it!
