While the talk in the world of comic book adaptations, for now, will likely be centered on Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the subject matter will be changing frequently over the next few weeks. (Hell, last week, it was all Daredevil, all the time.) In a little over a month, the talk will switch to Captain America: Civil War, and then that will be followed quickly by X-Men: Apocalypse. This is how it works for the time being.

But thanks to an Empire cover story that will be hitting magazine counters awfully soon, we’re getting some news about the hugely anticipated follow-up to X-Men: Days of Future Past this week, including the series of Empire covers. Today, we’ve got a gander at the limited edition cover that’s saved primarily for subscription holders, but also two new photos from the film. One is a familiar image of Apocalypse laying on what looks like the bed where he is created, while the other is of Ben Hardy‘s Angel before he becomes Archangel. Nothing major is revealed, thankfully, but that doesn’t mean that these images don’t further stoke the anticipation fires for the arrival of Oscar Isaac as the God of all mutants. We shall see what all of this is leading to on May 27th, when Apocalypse is revealed for real.
