Today we’ve got a trio of stories for DC TV shows. The upcoming series are preparing for their fall debuts, and are in the midst of casting and filming their new episodes. Some are adding heroes, some are adding villains, and it remains to be seen how much these new supporting roles add to the overall show. Sometimes you get villains that are so good fans demand more (that’s essentially how we have the Legion of Doom coming to Legends of Tomorrow) or other times they’re never heard from again.

Read on for new info on DC TV’s popular series The Flash, Arrow, and Gotham.

‘The Flash’ Casts Ashley Rickards to Play Top

First up, TV Line reports that The Flash has hired Ashley Rickards (Awkward) to play Rickards’ Rosalind “Rosa” Dillon, aka “Top”. In the comics, the character was male, Roscoe Dillon, and he had the power to spin at incredible speeds and also had “powerful telekinetic and telepathic powers due to the stimulation of his brain cells,” according to Wikipedia. Top will debut in Episode 4 as “the Bonnie to Mirror Master’s Clyde” (played by AquariusGrey Damon). While Flashpoint may be over by Episode 4 (it’s only supposed to last a few episodes), it doesn’t look like there will be any rest for The Flash, who returns on October 4th.

‘Arrow’ Hires Wil Traval to Be a Human Target

Over in Star City, Arrow is getting a new superhero to the show’s lineup. According to TV Line, Jessica Jones actor Wil Traval has been hired to play Human Target. Per TV Line, “A professional bodyguard and master of disguise who assumes the identities of those targeted by assassins, the character (aka Christopher Chance) will appear in Episode 5 when he takes on a new client: Mayor Oliver Queen.” You may recall that Human Target had its own show on Fox back in 2010-2011. ABC tried to adapt the character back in the 90s with Rick Springfield, but that was canceled after only seven episodes. Then again, when your superpower is taking hits so other people don’t have to, you can’t expect a long lifespan.

‘Gotham’: First Look at Jamie Chung as Valerie Vale

Finally, over on Gotham, we have the first look at Jamie Chung as intrepid reporter Valerie Vale. Vale is the Gotham Gazette’s latest hire, and she’s trying to get to the core of the story of the Indian Hill test subjects’ escape. “Coming from a family of lawmen, Valerie has lots of of courage and little hesitation dogging the GCPD. ‘I think the question is whose skin she doesn’t get under,’ Chung tells TV Line. ‘She’ll gives the cops a lead, but continues to show up — and that makes it difficult for them to do their job.’” She’ll also be dating Jim Gordon, which doesn’t make her life any easier.

Season 3 of Gotham premieres on September 19th.
