Fans have already seen Teen Wolf star Tyler Hoechlin suit up as the Man of Steel in Supergirl, but new photos from the network offer a new sneak peek into the show’s second season and with it Clark Kent, Superman’s civilian alter ego.
Hoechlin will make his debut as Superman when the series leaps to The CW this fall, but the first two episodes will have need of Mr. Kent. As shown in the photos, he’s all smiles meeting Kara’s co-workers at CatCo before he comes face to face with Lex Luthor’s sister, Lena, played by Katie McGrath. The season premiere, titled “The Adventures of Supergirl,” Lena will be trying to reconstruct the family-owned company.
Elsewhere, we see Superman fully formed working alongside Supergirl at the DEO, but one person he won’t be getting along with instantly seems to be Hank Henshaw/J’onn J’onzz/Martian Manhunter. Two images from the batch depict a particularly tense standoff where the two super-beings get in each other’s face. Meanwhile, Kal-El is shown supporting a limping Kara at the DEO in what looks like the aftermath of a battle.
Calista Flockhart will also return as Cat Grant, although her role has been reduced in light of the change in filming locations from Los Angeles to Vancouver. Still to be seen are Lynda Carter as POTUS Olivia Marsdin, Sharon Leal as Miss Martian, Chris Wood as Mon-El, Ian Gomez as Snapper Carr, and Floriana Lima as Maggie Sawyer.
After a season on CBS, Supergirl will make its CW debut on Monday, October 10th at 8 p.m. To help remind everyone of the occasion, the network released a new promo, which sees Supergirl making a Man of Steel-esque launch into the sky as shards of gravel collect in the air around her.
