‘Insidious: Chapter 4’ Moves to 2018!!!

Bad news, Insidious fans. You’re going to have to wait until next year to see the fourth chapter in the ongoing supernatural saga. Universal and Sony Pictures have bumped from the Halloween-friendly release date of October 20 to January 5, 2018. In its place, Universal will release Blumhouse’s Christopher Landon-directed Half to Death.

Insidious: Chapter 4 is directed by series newcomer Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah Logan) and sees the return of franchise staple Lin Shaye as Dr. Elise Rainier, the parapsychologist who tackles a haunting in her own family home this time around. The film is written by Insidious co-creator Leigh Whannell, who has scripted every Insidious film to date and made his directorial debut on Chapter 3. As always, Jason Blum, Oren Peli and co-creator James Wan produce.
