Game Of Thrones: Jon Snow’s Name Revealed!!

Who is Jon Snow? It’s been a question that A Song of Ice and Fire book fans have been wondering for decades, and Game of Thrones TV fans have been wondering for years. Ever since he was a child, he was labeled as a bastard of the Stark family. Ned Stark brought the child home with him — a supposed result of a fling during Robert Baratheon’s rebellion, but fans knew almost from the get-go that this was just a cover-up.
Ned Stark had always been honorable to a fault, and fans hard a hard time picturing him having such a lapse in judgment that he would be unfaithful to Catelyn. It didn’t take long for theories to develop over Jon Snow’s true parentage, and in Season 6, one of these was confirmed when it was revealed that Jon was the result of a love affair between Rhaegar Targaryen and Ned’s sister, Lyanna (technically making him Dany’s nephew).
Well, that name has been prematurely confirmed by an Empire piece. One Redditor posted the article, and now it’s available for all to see. “As we saw in the last episode of season six, Bran’s (Isaac Hempstead Wright) psychic time-traveling ‘greensight’ revealed the true nature of Jon’s birth heritage and his real name: Jaehaerys Targaryen. ‘Bran’s now in this precarious situation in which it’s just him and Meera [Ellie Kendrick], and he has all of this information that could change the entire story,’ says Hempstead Wright. And it’s not just about Jon. ‘He knows about the origin of the White Walkers, too.’” With audiences knowing full and well that he’s a Targaryen, not much has changed in our eyes but it’s always great to hear some sort of official confirmation.
Plus, Jaehaerys is kind of a cool name as far as Westeros names go. It’ll be interesting to see in the series proper how this reveal his handled, and what it’ll mean to all parties involved, especially Daenerys.
