‘Stargate Origins’ Casts Lead for MGM Digital Revival!!

The all-digital Stargate revival has found its leading lady.

Australian actress Ellie Gall (Lifetime‘s busted pilot A Midsummer’s Nightmare) has been tapped to play the role of fan-favorite character Catherine Langford in the 10-episode revival.

The new series, which will feature 10-minute episodes, will follow a younger version of Langford (originally played by Elizabeth Hoffman) and explore a new chapter in her early history surrounding the portal. She embarks on a new, unexpected adventure to unlock the mystery of what lies beyond the Stargate in order to save the Earth from darkness.

The project will be produced by MGM’s Digital Group and entertainment studio New Form. It will be directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan (Virtual Morality) and written by Mark Ilvedson and Justin Michael Terry. The series will launch on the new digital platform Stargate Command this year.

“The opportunity to portray this iconic character is once in a lifetime,” Gall said. “I’m thrilled to be a part of the Stargate family and I hope Stargate fans are as equally excited as I am about Catherine Langford’s new adventure.”

Gall joins a cast that includes former Stargate Atlantis alum Connor Trinneer, who will play Catherine’s father Professor Langford. Salome Azizi, Philip Alexander, Michelle Jubilee Gonzalez, Daniel Rashid, Sarah Navratil, Shvan Aladdin, Tonatiuh Elizarraraz, Derek Chariton, Justin Michael Terry and Lincoln Werner Hoppe round out the cast. Additional details about their characters will be released later.

Gall‘s credits include Australia’s Disney Channel series Mind Over Maddie, A Place to Call Home and Puberty Blues.
