First ‘RBG’ Trailer Celebrates the Life of the History-Making Supreme Court Justice!! Check It Out!!

Magnolia Pictures has debuted the first trailer for RBG, the new documentary about the life of boundary-shattering Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. The film offers a definitive biographical portrait of the history-making lawyer-turned-Justice who has become an icon of social change and progress during her rise through the United States courts. From the romance of her marriage, to the personal challenges she faced during her husband’s illnesses, her newfound internet fame as the “Notorious RBG”, and of course, the enduring legacy of her sharp legal mind and the impact she’s had on one of America’s core institutions, RBG charts the life of the 84-year-old lawmaker.

RBG debuted at Sundance earlier this year, where Collider’s Matt Goldberg called it “an unabashed celebration of one of the most popular and influential lawyers and jurists in American history.”

Directed by Betsy West and Julie Cohen, RBG features plenty of footage of Ginsburg from throughout her career, as well as interviews with Ginsburg’s family, friends and colleagues, and appearances from Gloria Steinem and Nina Totenberg, among others. The film will arrive in select theaters on May 4, watch the trailer below.

Here’s the official synopsis for RBG:

“At the age of 84, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has developed a breathtaking legal legacy while becoming an unexpected pop culture icon. But without a definitive Ginsburg biography, the unique personal journey of this diminutive, quiet warrior’s rise to the nation’s highest court has been largely unknown, even to some of her biggest fans – until now. RBG is a revelatory documentary exploring Ginsburg ‘s exceptional life and career from Betsy West and Julie Cohen, and co-produced by Storyville Films and CNN Films.”
