When it comes to consistency from episode to episode, season to season, Jessica Jones is the best of the bunch where Marvel’s Netflix series are concerned. So it’s little surprise that the streaming network officially renewed the show for a third season today. The renewal was maybe a little more iffy than usual since Disney–Marvel’s parent company–is attempting to launch its own streaming service as a one-stop-shop for all its subsidiaries (and their fans). MCU films like Captain America: Civil War, Doctor Strange, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 are still available on the streaming-content platform, along with shows like Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., but that’s likely going to change in the relatively near future.
Krysten Ritter, Rachael Taylor and Carrie-Anne Moss are expected to return as are executive producer/showrunner Melissa Rosenberg and Marvel’s Jeph Loeb and Jim Chory. Season 3 of the ABC Studios and Marvel Television series doesn’t have an official release date just yet, so stay tuned. We’ll be sure to follow up with more info once we have it.

Perhaps the biggest question for yours truly is not what sort of trouble Jessica Jones will get up to in another season, but whether or not Trish Walker will transform fully into Hellcat at long last. The best frenemies could potentially be at odds in Season 3, making for a very different sort of storytelling approach for the critically acclaimed series.
