Anyone who’s familiar with director Shane Black knows that his upcoming film The Predator has a lot of potential. From his early days of Lethal Weapon to fantastic gritty comedies such as Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang and The Nice Guys, Shane Black has been a master of weaving unorthodox plots with hyper-violence and laugh out loud moments (also, interesting side note, almost all of his films take place during or on Christmas). However, there’s still much about The Predator that we don’t know about.
A new image from the upcoming issue of Empire has just been released, showing the intergalactic trophy hunter in all its glory, along with two of the film’s main characters. Have a look below.
Anyone who has seen the most recent trailer knows this confrontation ends on a very surprising note. I won’t spoil it, but it looks like the latest sequel will hearken back to its roots, pitting a ragtag group of various humans against a seemingly insurmountable foe.
“From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black’s explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe’s most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.”
Hitting theaters on September 14, 2018, The Predator stars Boyd Holbrook, Yvonne Strahovski, Olivia Munn, Trevante Rhodes, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen, Augusto Aguilera, Jake Busey and Edward James Olmos. Stay tuned for more updates on the project!
