‘Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan’: Noomi Rapace Joins Krasinski In Season 2!!!

Amazon‘s Jack Ryan doesn’t make its series debut until the end of August, but the show looked ahead to its second season during its time Friday at Comic-Con 2018.

The show will add Noomi Rapace as a series regular in season two, which got an early pickup ahead of the series debut.

The Alien: Covenant and Bright actress will play Harriet “Harry” Baumann, a “highly capable, sharply intelligent and intoxicatingly charming” agent with Germany’s secret intelligence service who crosses paths with John Krasinski‘s CIA analyst Ryan in South America.

Jack Ryan has been a long time coming: Amazon announced the project, based on Tom Clancy‘s mega-successful series of novels, in August 2016. Two years after that, the eight-episode first season will debut on Amazon Prime Aug. 31.

In addition to Krasinski, the series also features Wendell Pierce and Abbie Cornish. Carlton Cuse (Bates Motel) and Graham Roland (Fringe, Almost Human) — who previously worked together on Lost — are the showrunners.

Although its source material is Clancy‘s novels, Cuse and Roland are telling an original story with season one, which follows Ryan from his desk-bound CIA job to a dangerous field assignment. Krasinski has said the appeal of the character is “playing a superhero whose only real superpower is using his brain, and his instincts.”

Comic-Con attendees also got an early look at the first episode of Jack Ryan.
