Sarah Michelle Gellar To Return To TV With ‘Sometimes I Lie’!!!

Deadline is reporting that Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Sarah Michelle Gellar is set for a return to the small screen for the limited series Sometimes I Lie.

Gellar will executive produce and star in the series, which is based upon the debut novel of former BBC journalist Alice Feeney and follows Amber Reynolds, a woman who wakes up in a hospital, unable to move, speak or open her eyes, and without any memory of the incident that caused her injuries, but a suspicion that her husband may have been involved. The timeline then alternates between the week leading up to the accident, and a series of 20-year-old childhood diary entries.

Ellen DeGeneresA Very Good Production is developing the series with Warner Bros. TV, and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Robin Swicord (The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) is attached to script the adaptation.

Sometimes I Lie will mark a rare outing for Gellar, who has only appeared in two series since Buffy in The CW’s Ringer and CBSThe Crazy Ones. A couple of years ago she was also attached to a Cruel Intentions pilot at NBC which would have seen her reprising her role as Kathryn Merteuil, although the network ultimately opted against moving ahead.
