Director Quentin Tarantino has assembled some true A-list talent for his new film Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood (yes, the ellipsis is part of it …). Leonardo DiCaprio stars as a faded TV Western star, with Brad Pitt as his stunt double (imagine!) Margot Robbie is also part of the lead as actress Sharon Tate, the wife of Roman Polanski who was murdered by followers of Charles Manson. The plot of the movie, as far as we know, revolves around the Manson Family Murders, but not much has been revealed beyond that.
Scoot McNairy, who is part of the movie’s sprawling cast, told us recently about the filming experience, saying:
That was probably one of the greatest experiences of my career. Just to watch Quentin be on set and be Quentin, and hold court, was one of the most fascinating things I have probably ever experienced in the movie business. It was an amazing, awesome experience. I would give anything to do it again. I really loved just listening to the guy be an encyclopedia on set. It’s incredible, the amount of information that guy stores in his head. But, it was great. I play a character that’s within a TV show in the movie. I know I’m not supposed to speak too much about it, but I can say that I play a character on a TV show, within the movie.
The announced ensemble for Once Upon a Time … in Hollywood now also includes Lena Dunham, Maya Hawke, Timothy Olyphant, Burt Reynolds, Damian Lewis, Luke Perry, Dakota Fanning, James Marsden, Clifton Collins, Keith Jefferson, Emile Hirsch, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, Danny Strong, Sydney Sweeney, Clu Gulager, James Landry Hébert, Mikey Madison, Al Pacino, and Nicholas Hammond, among others.
