During the lengthy development and production stage on Mad Max: Fury Road, franchise creator George Miller revealed that he’d also devised two further scripts for sequels, entitled Mad Max: Furiosa and Mad Max: The Wasteland.
In the wake of Fury Road’s critical and commercial success, Miller announced his intention to move forward with The Wasteland, but a legal dispute in 2017 between Miller and Warner Bros. over allegedly unpaid bonuses appeared to have put a halt to progress.
Well, if a new rumor is to be believed, we may now be close to a resolution as Fandango’s Erik Davis has stated on Twitter that he’s heard “whispers” that a new Mad Max movie may be starting to “rev its engines”.
Now, we must stress that this is nothing more than a rumor at present – but let’s hope it is one that pans out!
