Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw—a film that features Idris Elba playing a genetically enhanced terrorist therefore making it the frontrunner for the 2020 Best Picture Oscar according to me—has officially wrapped production. Star Dwayne Johnson shared a message announcing the end of filming, calling Hobbs & Shaw “easily the most challenging film I’ve ever produced and starred in.”
The film sees Johnson reprising the role of federal agent Luke Hobbs across from Jason Statham‘s rogue mercenary Deckard Shaw, two opposing badasses from the Fast & Furious franchise who should definitely get it over with and kiss already. Vanessa Kirby is also set to appear as Deckard’s sister, Hattie Shaw, an M16 agent. Hobbs & Shaw wraps production just as news broke that the still-untitled Fast & Furious 9—which probably won’t feature Johnson—pushed its premiere date back to May 22, 2020.
