‘The Lion King’: New TV Spot Remind Us of Simba’s Return!! Check It Out!!

In the midst of last night’s Oscars event, Disney unveiled their latest look at Jon Favreau‘s CG-animated remake of the 1994 classic, The Lion King. There’s not much in the way of new footage or material here, but it does feature the stirring first few bars of the iconic “Circle of Life” song and another helping of super-cute Simba. We’ll have to wait a bit longer to see and hear more, but the next few months should bring plenty more surprises.

Starring Donald Glover, Beyonce, Keegan Michael-Key, Billie Eichner, James Earl Jones, Chiwitel Ejiofor, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard, Eric André, Florence Kasumba, John OliverJohn Kani, JD McCrary, and Shahadi Wright Joseph, The Lion King arrives in theaters on July 19th.

Here is the full synopsis for The Lion King:

“From Disney Live Action, director Jon Favreau’s all-new “The Lion King” journeys to the African savanna where a future king is born. Simba idolizes his father, King Mufasa, and takes to heart his own royal destiny. But not everyone in the kingdom celebrates the new cub’s arrival. Scar, Mufasa’s brother—and former heir to the throne—has plans of his own. The battle for Pride Rock is ravaged with betrayal, tragedy and drama, ultimately resulting in Simba’s exile. With help from a curious pair of newfound friends, Simba will have to figure out how to grow up and take back what is rightfully his. The all-star cast includes Donald Glover as Simba, Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, James Earl Jones as Mufasa, Billy Eichner as Timon and Seth Rogen as Pumbaa.
