Netflix has released the first trailer for the upcoming horror series Chambers. The show follows a young woman (Sivan Alyra Rose) who suffers a heart attack and is saved by a transplant, only to discover that as she gets closer to the truth about her donor’s death, she begins to take on certain characteristics of the deceased. Uma Thurman and Tony Goldwyn play the parents of the young girl who died, and they are giving off the most creepy vibes in this trailer. Run away, girl. Run away.
The show was created by Leah Rachel, who describes the new series thusly:
“Taking place in a mystic, New Age pocket of Arizona, Chambers is a psychological horror story that explores the different ways we metabolize trauma. But what starts out as a grounded human story eventually pivots into something far more strange and fucked up than you were expecting.”
Having watched the trailer, uh yeah, that about sums it up. Netflix launched the terrific horror series The Haunting of Hill House last year, which will continue on as an anthology series, so it’ll be interesting to see if Chambers picks up a similar amount of buzz when it releases later this month.
For now, check out the Chambers trailer below. The series also stars Lilliya Reid, Nicholas Galitzine, Marcus LaVoi, Kyanna Simone Simpson, Lilli Kay, Sarah Mezzanotte, and Griffin Powell-Arcand. Executive produced by Rachel and Alfonso Gomez-Rejon (Me and Earl and the Dying Girl), Chambers will be released on Netflix on April 26th.
A young heart attack survivor becomes consumed by the mystery surrounding the heart that saved her life. However, the closer she gets to uncovering the truth about her donor’s sudden death, the more she starts taking on the characteristics of the deceased — some of which are troublingly sinister. Chambers will premiere globally on Netflix in 2019.
