‘Snowpiercer’: Latest Trailer Is About Sparking a Revolution!! Check It Out!!

The latest trailer for TNT‘s Snowpiercer TV series reveals more details of the literal class warfare between front car and back car passengers.

The promo kicks off with an announcement from Jennifer Connelly’s Melanie Cavill, a front car passenger who runs the Snowpiercer train’s PA system. She mentions the outside temperature of -116 degrees Celsius, and that the train passengers have been circling the globe for over seven years. Another first-class resident mentions the train’s core principles — work, honor and order — all of which ironically contrast with the discrimination and poor conditions experienced by back car passengers.

From there, the trailer cuts to the beginnings of a revolution in the back cars, with David Digg of Hamilton fame and Better Call Saul’s Steven Ogg leading the charge. One character states that “order will be restored,” but it’s clear by this violent battle between the classes that one side has no intention of going back to the way it was before.

Snowpiercer started as a manga series before being adapted into a 2013 film by Bong Joon-ho, who recently won multiple Oscars for 2019’s Parasite. The film took place in 2031, years after Earth had been reduced to a frozen wasteland via global warming, and follows the last survivors of humanity aboard a massive train divided and segregated by “class” cars. It starred Chris Evans, John Hurt, Tilda Swinton, Octavia Spencer, Ed Helms and longtime Joon-Ho collaborator Song Kang-ho.

TNT‘s Snowpiercer is set to air on May 17, two weeks earlier than originally expected. The show will be co-produced by Tomorrow Studios and CJ Entertainment, which produced the original film
