‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie’ Costumes up for Auction!!

Costumes worn in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie are up for auction in December.

The full set of more armored, Americanized outfits — along with the matching helmets and several props — will be sold as part of Prop Store‘s upcoming Entertainment Memorabilia Live Auction.

“The Power Rangers costumes are very cool because A) they are from the movie, as you just said. The 1995 film, not the television show. The movie has far more interesting costumes,” a rep for Prop Store said in a new episode of the Adam Savage’s Tested YouTube series. “And B) I think this is the first time the costumes from the movie have ever been on auction. So we’re happy to have this set. And we actually do have the full set of all six rangers.”

Speaking about the intricate details on the costumes, the rep noted, “I’m sure they had more money for the film. And I think they wanted to bring a more interesting look for the Rangers themselves.”

The 25-year-old costumes have some visible wear-and-tear, and five of the six helmets featured in the auction are the original headpieces worn by the actors in the film, with only the helmet for the Red Ranger being a replica. Per the auction notes, the full set of Ranger costumes is comprised of elements worn by both the actors and stunt doubles during filming.
