Clear some more room on your Netflix queue, because after much Gilmore Girls-related hype, we finally have a first look at Ginny & Georgia. Days after the streaming service shared a peek of two of its most anticipated titles — The Kissing Booth 3 and To All The Boys: Always and Forever — Netflix has shared new photos from the forthcoming dramedy.
On February 24, 2021 Ginny and Georgia, a mother-daughter coming-of-age series starring Antonia Gentry as Ginny and Brianne Howey as Georgia will premiere. Featuring a creative team of entirely women, the story centers on the angsty and awkward 15-year-old Ginny Miller, who often feels as though she doesn’t measure up to her 30-year-old mother, the irresistibly charming Georgia Miller.
The series follows Georgia’s attempts to give the family a fresh start in picturesque New England. However, the new home doesn’t come without some of Georgia’s past resurfacing. And in the first images of the series, shared today by Netflix, it does look as though Ginny is in for a ride.
Despite an image that appears to show a less than enthused Ginny admiring the family’s new home, it appears as if she eventually gets settled in. Additional images show her perhaps making some new friends and posing for a selfie with pals. In one photo, she looks to be enjoying a moment of television on the couch with someone, and her mom is watching carefully from the wings. The show also stars Degrassi: Next Class star Sara Waisglass as Maxine, Schitt’s Creek‘s Jennifer Robertson as Ellen, Friday Night Lights alum Scott Porter as Mayor Paul Randolph, and Narcos actor Raymond Ablack as Joe.
Joining Ginny and Georgia on this adventure will be Austin (Diesel La Torraca), Georgia’s younger son, and a neighborhood filled with new friends, including Marcus (Happy Together actor Felix Mallard), the “edgy” next door neighbor that could turn crush for Ginny.
Ginny and Georgia will officially debut on Netflix with 10 one-hour episodes on February 24, 2021.
