‘Space Jam 2’: New Character Posters Reveals the New 3D Designs!! Check It Out!!

New Space Jam: A New Legacy character posters show 3D designs of Tweety, Taz. and more. After years of being stuck in development hell, a Space Jam sequel was finally announced in 2014 with NBA superstar LeBron James set to star. Produced by Black Panther director Ryan Coogler, A New Legacy will be more of a family movie,” according to James.

Though A New Legacy was initially supposed to be helmed by Fast & Furious director Justin Lin. Terence Nance replaced him until he stepped away due to creative differences with producers and Warner Bros. Finally, Malcolm D. Lee (Girls Trip) stepped in to finish the sequel. While the original saw Michael Jordan team up with the Looney Tunes to defeat the Monstars on the court, the sequel is centered around LeBron and his teenage son Dom (Cedric Joe), who has dreams of being a video game developer, according to plot details released for the film.

With only a few months to go until the release of the long-awaited, highly-anticipated follow-up to Space Jam, Warner Bros. released eight new 3D character posters showing off LeBron James and each member of the Tune Squad. The posters include beloved characters Bugs Bunny, Lola Bunny, Tweety Bird, Daffy Duck, Tasmanian Devil, Speedy Gonzales, and Road Runner. Check out the newly released character posters below:

Because it has been 25 years since the release of the original Space Jam, the face of the NBA has drastically changed. While the original film featured cameos from some of the NBA‘s biggest stars in 1996, such as Larry Bird, Charles Barkley, and Patrick Ewing, A New Legacy will follow suit and star current NBA players Damian Lillard, Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, and LeBron‘s Laker teammates Anthony Davis and Kyle Kuzma. Just as the original saw Jordan sucked down into a golf hole into the Looney Tunes world, the next chapter of Space Jam will find LeBron and his son sucked into virtual reality by a rogue AI named Al-G Rhythm (Don Cheadle).

Until now, Warner Bros. had only released a few images from A New Legacy, so this new slew of character posters is a good indication that the movie’s promotional campaign is beginning to ramp up for its summer release. This means that a teaser trailer is likely to come soon. Space Jam: A New Legacy arrives in theaters and on HBO Max on July 16th.
