‘Mare of Easttown’: Kate Winslet Led HBO Limited Series Gets a New Trailer!! Check It Out!!

The first official trailer of HBO’s new drama series Mare of Easttown starring Kate Winslet has just been released. The seven-part limited series is set to premiere on April 18 on HBO and HBO Max. A brief teaser trailer for Mare of Easttown dropped back in February, but this official trailer gives viewers the context they need to understand the overall plot of the show. In the trailer, Detective Mare Sheehan (Winslet), investigates a murder while navigating life in her small town. We get a good sense of her rocky homelife, her fading glory as a once-revered high school sports star, and her involvement in what appears to be a murder investigation involving fellow Easttown residents she’s known for years.

Mare of Easttown is written and created by Brad Inglesby, who is the screenwriter of the critically acclaimed drama films The Way Back and American Woman. All seven episodes are directed by Craig Zobel, who helmed last year’s controversial thriller, The Hunt. These two very distinct voices in cinema working together on a limited series are bound to create something nothing short of visionary.

On top of Winslet in the title role, Mare of Easttown boasts a star-studded cast. American Horror Story favorite Evan Peters appears as Detective Colin Zabel, who teams up with Mare to solve a haunting case. Julianne Nicholson also shows up as Mare’s childhood best friend. Also among the cast is Angourie Rice as Mare’s daughter, Jean Smart as Mare’s mother and Guy Pearce as a professor that Mare befriends. Rounding out the rest of the cast is David Denman (Outcast), Joe Tippett (Rise), Cailee Spaeny (Devs), John Douglas Thompson (Let Them All Talk) Patrick Murney (Seven Seconds), James McArdle (Ammonite), Sosie Bacon (Here and Now) and Neal Huff (The Wire).

With a largely impressive cast and an extremely talented writer as the showrunner, it’s easy to assume that Mare of Eastown is a series to watch out for. This Winslet vehicle feels reminiscent of some other HBO limited series such as Sharp Objects and I Know This Much Is True, but still seems as though it will bring its own brand of captivating mystery to the table. Mare of Easttown is premiering in less than a month, so HBO subscribers should have something to talk about for the next couple of months.

Mare of Easttown will premiere on HBO and HBO Max on April 18. Check out the official trailer below.

Here’s the official synopsis for Mare of Easttown.
