With Pathaan running successfully in theatres in its fifth week, the Shah Rukh Khan starrer is still witnessing major demand for shows in cinemas. With that being said, actors Deepika Padukone and John Abraham are also being loved for their performances in the movie. As Deepika played spy in the Siddharth Anand directorial, fans have been demanding a women-led movie in the YRF spy universe starring Rubai and Zoya, which played Katrina Kaif in the Tiger franchise. Pathaan’s writer Sridhar Raghavan says that there’s the possibility to make a film with the actresses as leads.
Speaking to News18, Raghavan recently said, “There’s a vacuum of those kinds of stories (women-led spy films) here. I’m pretty sure we’ll be filling that up. So, yes, there’s definitely a plan to make a spy film with the women.”
Sridhar, who has also worked as the screenplay writer for Hrithik Roshan – Tiger Shroff starrer War (2019), further said, “There’s no limitation here and we don’t just plan on working with Hrithik, Shah Rukh sir, and Salman sir. There are two other crucial characters in the universe – Rubai and Zoya.”
Pathaan has now recorded $46.88 million in the overseas territories alone, while nett collection in India stands at Rs. 527.35 crore (Hindi – Rs. 509.15 crore, Dubbed – Rs. 18.20 crore)! The total worldwide gross is an incredible Rs. 1023 crore (India gross: Rs. 638 crore, overseas: Rs. 385 crore).
