‘The Greatest Hits’: First Images Tease the Time Traveling Rom Com!! Check It Out!!!

Plenty of love stories have hit the big screen before, but the premise of The Greatest Hits has everything necessary to stand out from the bunch. The upcoming film written and directed by Ned Benson is scheduled to hit theaters in select cities on April 5. Lucky audiences in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Dallas, Denver, San Diego, and Atlanta, will have the chance to see it on the big screen. The rest of us won’t have to wait too long though as The Greatest Hits will be available for streaming on Hulu in the United States, Star+ in Latin America, and Disney+ in the rest of the world on April 12.

The Greatest Hits follows Harriet (Lucy Boynton), a young woman who discovers that certain songs allow her to travel back in time. And that’s not a romantic metaphor for saying she spends her days thinking about her past — the music can literally send her back in time. The melodies give Harriet an opportunity to relive moments she shared with her former boyfriend (David Corenswet), and while that might feel good for a while, the protagonist of the story has to deal with another situation. Harriet begins to fall for a new love interest (Justin H. Min) in the present, and she’ll have to decide if she wants to live in the past, or if she wants to move on with her life.

The first images from The Greatest Hits were also released by Searchlight Pictures, giving audiences their first look at Harriet alongside her two love interests. Boynton can be seen standing with Min in a vinyl record store, a romantic setting explored in other stories, such as (500) Days of Summer. The images also make it clear how both potential boyfriends for Harriet share situations with her that are extremely dreamy, putting the protagonist in the tough spot of deciding who will ultimately win her heart.

The Busy Cast of ‘The Greatest Hits’

Boynton, Min, Corenswet, and Austin Crute are ready to bring their best romantic game to the screen with The Greatest Hits, but the actors have been extremely busy with a wide variety of projects very different from the love story created by Benson. Boynton was seen in The Pale Blue Eye and Chevalier before scoring a small role in Barbie. On the other hand, Corenswet is ready to star as the Man of Steel in Superman: Legacy, the first theatrical release in the new DC Universe. Min recently appeared in Shortcomings and the successful Netflix series, Beef, which swept the Emmys earlier this year.

With this much star power, the cast of The Greatest Hits is ready to deliver what looks to be one of this year’s most emotional love stories when it hits the big screen on April 5 and Hulu and Disney+ on April 12. Stay tuned at Collider for further updates.
