‘Tulsa King’ Season 3 Begins Production with New Showrunner!!

There hasn’t been a more coveted TV debut of a movie star than Sylvester Stallone’s in Tulsa King! The revered action star shouldered the Taylor Sheridan series with a gangster level ease and panache that probably is the biggest reason for its continuously growing popularity. The first two seasons have received much love from fans and critics alike and Season 3 is finally in production with a new showrunner Dave Erickson, Deadline reports.

Erickson is well known for titles like Fear the Walking Dead, Sons of Anarchy, and Canterbury’s Law. He’s also the writer, executive producer and showrunner on another beloved Sheridan series, Mayor of Kingstown, starring Jeremy Renner. Per the report, he’s been roped in as an executive producer and showrunner on Tulsa King Season 3. It’s to be noted that after Season 1 showrunner Terence Winter stepped down the second season of the series didn’t have a traditional showrunner, with Craig Zisk joining as executive producer and director.

What To Expect From ‘Tulsa King’ Season 3?

The second season ended on a very thrilling note, with Dwight making some uneasy alliances while the Manfredi crime family is rapidly expanding, and the events of Season 2 have it poised to expand even further. In his final moments, Chickie did come up with an impressive plan, alluding to opening up new “businesses” in untapped territories. It’s a thought that remains in play with Manfredi and Bevilaqua going forward, and we can expect this plan to come in action.

In an interview with Collider, Martin Starr, who plays Dwight’s quirky and reluctant business partner Bodhi, teased an action packed season, “I can’t tell you anything that I’ve read in those episodes, but I am excited. This new season is going to be a lot of fun. It looks already like there’s going to be a lot of action, and there are some loose ends that may or may not get tied up.” With Season 2 leaving fans wanting for more, it seems like the upcoming season 3 episodes will be addressing some lingering questions—while raising the stakes even higher.

As for returning cast members, Jay Will as Tyson, Max Casella as Armand Truisi, Vincent Piazza as Vince Antonacci, Domenick Lombardozzi as Charlie Invernizzi, Garrett Hedlund as Mitch Keller, and Dana Delany as Margaret Devereaux are expected to return. Furthermore, new faces like Frank Grillo and Neal McDonough have also picked up recurring roles in Season 2 as Cal Threshner and Bill Bevilaqua, respectively.
