According to the film’s logline, Stefanie is on a mission to “track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle” of death and tragedy that has haunted her family. The upcoming horror film also stars Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, and Anna Lore in prominent roles. Zach Lipvsky and Adam Stein serve as the directors for the sixth Final Destination installment with Jon Watts, Guy Busick, and Lori Evans Taylor credited as the scriptwriters.

Devon Sawa played the role of Alex Browning in the original Final Destination. Sawa’s character sets the events of the first film into motion after a vivid premonition saves him and his classmates from a deadly plane crash. Despite being the lead of the groundbreaking first film, Sawa’s installment is actually Final Destination 5, which also features a surprise cameo appearance by him.
In an exclusive interview with PEOPLE, Sawa shared that he loves the horror franchise and has seen all the installments in the theatres. According to the actor: “I love that they keep bringing in a new cast and rebooting it.” Sawa added that he would be open to returning to the franchise if the opportunity ever came up. While speaking about his cameo in Final Destination 5, Sawa revealed that he was just as shocked as the audience. Turns out that he had no idea he was going to be part of the film because the producers wanted to keep it a secret.
It was only when Sawa was invited to the premiere that he found out about his surprise appearance. In a now-deleted tweet shared by Comicbook.com, the actor revealed that his contract for the first film included a section that stated that the producers owned the footage and could use it in the future. The actor then confirmed to PEOPLE that he was not compensated for the cameo, since it was just “archive footage.”
Final Destination Bloodlines hits theatres in the U.S. on May 16, 2025.
