‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3: First Images Tease the Final Season!! Check It Out!!

The weather is finally starting to get warmer, which means another summer of love is upon us. It’s going to be an even steamier one since, after a year off, The Summer I Turned Pretty is returning for its third and final season. The series based on Jenny Han’s popular book series of the same name has been a huge hit for Amazon Prime Video. Now, after it was announced earlier this month that Season 3 would indeed be the last for TV’s favorite love triangle, hopeless romantics have finally gotten their first look at Belly’s heart-filled swan song.

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, a batch of images has been released for fans to go head-over-heels for. Most of them feature Lola Tung’s Belly with Jeremiah, played once again by Gavin Casalegno. Belly chose him over his brother, Christopher Briney’s Conrad, at the end of Season 2. The pair is seen all lovey-dovey in multiple shots, but they’re not the only couple making moves in the upcoming season. Belly’s brother Steven, played by Sean Kaufman, and her best friend, Rain Spencer’s Taylor, are also seen closer than ever. Conrad, on the other hand, looks to be doing his best to move on from Belly. Han told EW, “We know that he went to Stanford, and so he’s continuing on his journey to become a doctor, as you can see from that white coat. I think people won’t be surprised to see that.” With that said, love always has a funny way of eating away at our hearts.

A Time Jump & a More Mature Love Triangle

It’s been two years since Season 2 ended with Belly and Jeremiah making their blistering romance official. That also happens to be the exact time jump between seasons. When teasing what to expect from the upcoming season, Tung said to EW, “The Jellyfish fans love how sweet and how they are, at their core, best friends. That relationship is something that’s so special and so unique to them, so it’s exciting to see this season and how their relationship blossoms.” Han would expand upon the state of the main love story, saying,”It’s very sweet and there’s so many amazing scenes for Belly and Jeremiah this season, so many“. She would continue on, “Lola and Gavin have really great chemistry and got into such a good rhythm with each other, because we do have a little bit of a time jump going into season 3, so they needed to have that kind of bond, and it was really seamless. It’ll be joyful for people to witness it.” That being said, the series hasn’t forgotten about Belly’s first love, Conrad. There will be a lot of juicy scenes for Bonrard to unpack with Han clearing the air:

Conrad’s been away from everyone for a while, and now he’s back in the mix with people. It’s almost like rediscovering and also seeing the ways that they’ve both changed and have had some distance from each other, and who are these people now? Because there is a little bit of a time jump and he’s been gone. People will see the ways that he’s changed and he’s seeing the ways that Belly and Jeremiah — and Steven [Sean Kaufman] — have changed as well.

When Does ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty’ Season 3 Release?

The Summer I Turned Pretty will return for its final season sometime in July 2025. It will be a super-sized affair consisting of 11 episodes for us to cry over. Also, just because you’ve read the books and know what brother Belly ends up with doesn’t mean you know how the series will end. Han warned, “There are going to be surprises. There are the things that they know and then there are things they think they know, and then there’s going to be, hopefully, things that surprise them.” Tong has nothing but praise for the author and showrunner, saying, “The one thing I’ve always admired about Jenny is that every season and every decision about what’s coming next is purely to serve the story.” The actress would finish, “She’s never going to do anything that doesn’t make sense for the story. It’s all about this beautiful world she’s created and giving the fans something really, really special and giving us something really special to work with.Tung will have a jammed back summer as, alongside Summer I Turned Pretty, she’s also starring in the next installment of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Before her sun-soaked season begins, you can catch up on the first two seasons of The Summer I Turned Pretty on Prime Video.
